ASLEF Women’s Network held its first networking weekend in Birmingham in February.
The event was run by women for women, and gave women members of the union an opportunity to meet and support each other.
Members took part in thought provoking workshops, discussions and an exchange of ideas about how to make sure women feel supported and able to play a full part in the union.
Women who joined the weekend shared their experiences and built confidence to take part in wider ASLEF events. Alongside the formal sessions, there was a Saturday evening meal with live music which helped women get to know each other and build friendships that will support them in the union for the future.
