An ASLEF delegation attended the International Transport Federation (ITF) Railway Conference in Johannesburg, successfully moving a motion on disability equality and calling for it to be an organising priority for the ITF.
Subsequently, ASLEF attended a meeting with the ITF to discuss how best to implement the policy arising from the motion and formed part of a panel , discussing disability at the ITF Young Workers’ Conference in Mumbai, outlining the work ASLEF has undertaken organising disabled members and creating a Disabled Members’ Representative Committee.
