2004: STUC Black Workers Committee

At the STUC Black Workers conference in 2004, Paul Patmore was elected to the STUC Black Workers Committee, the first ASLEF member to have held such a position. He remains a member of this committee in 2020.

You can find out more about the work of the STUC Black Workers Committee here.

The STUC Black Workers banner. The background is silky turquoise fabric, and in the centre there is a circle in a darker colour with a peace symbol, a hand holding a key and the words 'stuc' and 'black workers'.
